Residents can now be diagnosed and treated for many heart conditions without having to leave the territory.
This is because the Bougainvillea Clinic officially opened the doors last Saturday to the Dr Kendall Griffith Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory – the first ever in the territory.

Dr Heskith Vanterpool is taking a second shot at the provision of urgent care services locally because he thinks there is a demand for such services, which include catering to people with cardiac problems as well as those who need suturing (also called stitches).
Bougainvillea Clinic, which is operated by Dr Vanterpool, hosted a ceremony yesterday (February 15) to launch the services.

That’s how Dr Heskith Vanterpool and his wife Jean were described on Saturday morning as they swung open the doors to a brand new surgical ward, an operating theatre suite, and an imaging department at Bougainvillea Clinic in Road Town, Tortola.
Not being selfish with the praise, Dr Vanterpool expressed gratitude to the many persons who have contributed to Bougainvillea’s incredible journey.

Bougainvillea Clinic, a private hospital located on Russell Hill in Road Town, would like to inform the public that as of February 15 it will be offering a walk-in service for routine and urgent healthcare needs.
The Urgent Care Service at Bougainvillea Clinic will be available for 7am to 11pm daily, including weekends and holidays, with a general practitioner and supporting healthcare staff in attendance during those hours.

The Bougainvillea Clinic, a private hospital in Road Town, has successfully carried out a procedure called radioactive seed implantation, also known as brachytherapy, on three patients with early-stage prostate cancer.
The operation was done on January 6 which is the first time treatment for prostate cancer has been performed in the British Virgin Islands.

More surgical procedures to treat early-stage prostate cancer are being performed in the British Virgin Islands.
Local private hospital, Bougainvillea Clinic, recently conducted five additional brachytherapy operations.
Brachytherapy describes a procedure whereby radioactive seeds are implanted into the prostate gland.

The new service will allow the people of the Virgin Islands to access services in the Cardiac Cauterization Laboratory, right at home according to Bougainvillea Clinic owner Dr Heskith Vanterpool.
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory is the only such facility in the Eastern Caribbean, and it is named the Dr Kendall Griffith Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory in honour of Dr Griffith.
